McAllen ISD high school student earns the University of Texas Forty Acres Scholarship

MCALLEN, Texas – McAllen ISD’s Nikki Rowe High School student, Ethan Davila was selected as a University of Texas Forty Acres Scholar.

The Forty Acres Scholars Program inspires and nurtures visionary leaders and helps them use their talents to benefit society. The district’s press release said Forty Acres Scholars demonstrate intellectual curiosity and a track record of outstanding academic success.

The funding provides for tuition, a living stipend, a book stipend and enrichment activities including a community component, a global experience and professional experiences, said the release.

Davila is a student in the International Baccalaureate Programme based at Lamar Academy.
