The McAllen Education Foundation is turning dreams into reality for thousands of students at McAllen ISD.
District officials and foundation members surprised teachers this morning with the good news.
The non-profit organization awarded 20 grants valued at more than $34,000. It will fund broadcast equipment, expert chess lessons as well as 3D printers.
Eric Casas, McAllen ISD English Teacher said, “Our vision, what we see, we want to produce it. As in, we can feel it, we can see it, something that’s concrete. And with art and 3D printing, I think we’re able to display that and to show that. With the work, and now the $6,000 that we got.”
This year’s grants will benefit more than 3,000 students across McAllen ISD.
