Border Patrol agents foiled a marijuana smuggling attempt.

Monday night, Rio Grande City agents observed four subjects carrying bundles of marijuana near Roma, Texas.

As agents approached the area, the smugglers abandoned the narcotics and absconded into Mexico.

As agents secured the narcotics, they observed a Nissan Frontier leaving the area at a high rate of speed.

The driver abruptly stopped and bailed out of the vehicle as agents closed in.

Agents seized four bundles of marijuana weighing over 200 pounds worth an estimated $162K.

Border Patrol seized the vehicle and the Drug Enforcement Administration took custody of the narcotics.
