Many Honor Vietnam War Veterans

Local News

Homer Hanna Early College High School is nearing it’s 50 years of service in Brownsville.
Before then it was Brownsville high school.
Many of the students in attendance in the 1960’s were drafted into the Vietnam war.
On April 7th, 2017 the Warriors United in Arms hold a special ceremony for fallen heroes.
Members for the community came out to the Vietnam War commemorative plaque located at the high school.
Tony Garcia, Executive Director of Warriors United in Arms says, “When we came back from Vietnam we did not get a welcome from the country or the government. We just think that it took us 50 years to get this going. Now we got it going.”
They honored those fallen from the Brownsville area with a 21 gun salute.
The high school will be holding a special ceremony to celebrate its 50 years.
