Man formally charged in connection to Harlingen murder

Harlingen (Texas)–A 44-year-old man has been indicted for the death of a Harlingen resident who was found dead near the Harlingen police department.

Court records show that Anthony Eliff III was indicted on March for “knowingly cause the death of Guillermo Garcia” who was found on February 6 in a parked vehicle with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Eliff is being charged with one count of murder and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $1.9 million for murder and $40,000 for possession.

He is set to be arraigned in the 107th District Court on May 27, court records say.
