A Harlingen man was arrested after using a dating application to connect with a teen, the Cameron County Sheriff TMs Department said.

Esteban Berrios Jr. was charged Friday with sexual abuse of a child ” a second degree felony, and authorities ask other victims to come forward.

Sheriff Omar Lucio said 34-year-old Berrios was arrested April 3 after a teenage boy made an outcry to authorities.

The two connected on Grindr ” an all-male social network that uses GPS to dates nearby.

The sheriff says investigators believe there may have been other incidents even though Berrios does not have a criminal past.

We feel bad about it. It TMs really heartbreaking | Lucio said. We don TMt want these kind of people here in our community or in any other community as far as that goes.

Grindr requires users to be 18 and older, but like most social networking sites, children use false birth dates.

A feature on the app allows users to search for certain age groups when trying to meet other men.

Authorities ask those who might have been in contact with Berrios to contact them at (956) 350-5551.
