Man charged with animal cruelty after shooting dog

Primera police have arrested a 35-year-old man after shooting his neighbor’s dog. According to police, David Mata was placed under arrest and charged with one count of animal livestock cruelty, a third degree felony. Officers were called by the dog’s owner on Tuesday at approximately 8:30 p. m. to the 2300 block of Pacific Avenue. Upon arrival, the responding officer learned that Mata had shot his neighbor’s dog.
