HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Harlingen Police are currently working on a major crash on the expressway northbound between F street and Lincoln Avenue exit.

Harlingen PD told ValleyCentral that the accident involved a motorcycle, and one individual died as a result of their injuries.

Police say traffic is backed up at this time and urge drivers to be patient and avoid the area if possible.

Traffic is diverted from US Expressway 77 in Harlingen after a major accident near Victor Park. Traffic is backed up to Ed Carey Drive. Harlingen Police blocked off all lanes of traffic and moved motorists onto the frontage road.
