Students at Dora Romero Elementary in Los Fresnos got their hair cut for a good cause Thursday.
The 4th Annual “Wigs for Kids” event was held at the school.
One of the organizers, Brenda Lopez, who is also a research teacher at the school, came up with the idea for the event because she is a cancer survivor and had to wear a wig 10 years ago. She said it also brings awareness to the girls.
“In my heart, I love it. I see these girls donating their hair for a good cause and it brings joy to my heart, it really does.”
According to Lopez, the next event will be held in February 2021 and it’s tied to Valentine’s Day.
If you would like to donate, you can contact the school at 956-254-5210 and ask for Mrs. Lopez or Mrs. Sanchez.
