Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)— A fatal auto-pedestrian crash left a 41-year-old man dead Thursday evening.
Sheriff deputies responded to Share 27 Road, North of Highway 77 in regards to an ATV driving on the roadway.
Upon arrival at approximately 10:20 p.m., deputies were able to locate an abandoned ATV in an establishment on the corner of Highway 100.
While conducting an investigation, it was determined that Jose Alberto Garcia, a resident from Los Fresnos, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling Eastbound on Highway 100 while he was crossing the street.
The Cameron County Sheriff’s office says the vehicle that hit Garcia stopped to render him aid.
The incident remains under investigation.
