While stores have seen customers stock up on toilet paper and other household necessities during the COVID-19 pandemic, another product is making its way off shelves.
Gun shops are selling out of guns and ammo.
Lone Star Gun Shop in Harlingen has seen empty gun racks and shelves the past few weeks.
Shop owner Brian Guerra says it could be a while before they get more supplies.
“We did put in an order of stuff before everything did start getting a little hectic, but our suppliers are backed up,” said Guerra. “As far as ammunition goes they’ve actually given us no date as to when they can start delivering ammunition again.”
Guerra reminds residents that gun purchases should not be taken lightly and should and customers should be sure about their purchases.
Everyone who purchases a gun will need to undergo a federal background check.
