Leaders across Texas mourn the loss of two fallen McAllen officers

MCALLEN (KVEO) — Across the Rio Grande Valley and the entire state of Texas, leaders are offering their condolences to the two police officers killed in the line of duty on Saturday.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott offered the “full support of the State of Texas” to McAllen PD and the community.

Similarly, U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) offered support to the community and mentioned he is deeply saddened by this situation.

Back in the RGV, local leaders at all levels commented their desperation on the indicent.

McAllen Mayor Jim Darling gave his deepest sympathies to the families of the fallen officers that served in his city.

Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra called for the community to remember the fallen heroes.

Also offering support on social media were FBI San Antonio, the Texas Attorney General, and several cities and organizations across the Rio Grande Valley.

The community is looking to stand together through this difficult situation.
