Kobe Bryant’s death felt locally

EDINBURG, Texas – Millions of people are mourning the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant’s spectacular play brought many families together who enjoyed watching him. Now a Valley basketball team is paying their respects.

On Sunday morning, nine people were killed in helicopter crash in California. Among those killed were Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna Bryant and two other families whose daughters played basketball with Bryant’s daughter. The three families were on their way to basketball practice.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers are asking if you are attending a game, you’re encouraged to wear your Kobe Bryant jersey.
