Jason Garrett on Dak Prescott’s Poise and the Cowboy Philosophy

Local News

From the Dallas Cowboys Training Camp. Linebacker Jaylon Smith will play Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts. He missed all of last season with a knee injury.

In the Ezekiel Elliott case, the NFL and NFL Players Association have traded jabs after the union leaked text messages from Elliott’s former girlfriend. The NFL called it shameful.

The talk of Smith and Elliott didn’t stop the Cowboys from getting back to work with a very physical practice. Quarterback Dak Prescott has taken many reps, especially after the Ezekiel Elliott suspension. Head Coach Jason Garrett spoke about the poise Prescott has showed at practice.

“That’s just the way he is. It’s really important for everybody on our football team to be that way, and if you ever lose someone for whatever reason it is, the next man steps up, and you go to work. Everyone focuses on doing their job as well as they can do it, and they move forward. Take it day by day, week by week.

On Saturday night, August 19, the Dallas Cowboys host the Indianapolis Colts in their third preseason game.
