Hyundai presented a $50,000 check to the Vannie E. Cook Jr. Children’s Cancer and Hematology Clinic on Monday.

The company’s Hope on Wheels program supports organizations that treat pediatric cancer.

The Vannie Cook clinic allows local children to receive cancer treatment without leaving the Rio Grande Valley.

About 48 percent of the children treated at the clinic have leukemia, according to clinic data. Brain cancer is the second most common type of cancer treated at the clinic.
