A 58-year-old man accused of shooting and killing his wife last week near Edinburg has been arraigned.
Javier Sobrevilla’s bond was set at $2 million. He is being charged with murder. A first degree felony.
Sobrevilla turned himself in to the police this weekend, after being on the loose since last Monday.
Investigators say the suspect shot his wife and fled to Mexico for a few days.
The victim, Maria Sobrevilla, was found dead with gunshot wounds when investigators arrived.
If found guilty, Sobrevilla can face up to 99 years in prison.
