BROWNSVILLE, Texas – The cottages of Holiday Village Brownsville are back at Dean Porter Park for the 10th annual yuletide event. With one new build and three remodels, this year there will be a total of 33 fully-decorated cottages lining the sidewalks.

This family-friendly attraction is funded by grants and sponsors and organized entirely by volunteers. “This really is a labor of love for us, and we’re so excited to be celebrating our tenth consecutive season,” said Laurie Ray, Holiday Village Chair. This year’s sponsors include HEB Helping Here, the Mitte Foundation, Parra Furniture, Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville, the Village Accountants, the Big Give Brownsville, and Brownsville Parks & Recreation.

Opening ceremonies and the first official lighting of the season are set to take place on Monday, November 25th. Festivities will begin at 6pm with the lighting at 7pm, and will include live music, door prizes, and free original glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts to the first 1000 guests. Door prizes totaling more than $1,000 in value include restaurant gift cards, museum passes, theater tickets, zoo passes, a ride in a genuine World War II aircraft, and tuition to the children’s Summer Workshop at the Camille Playhouse.
