Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office issue citations for violation of current Shelter-At-Home Order

EDINBURG, Texas – On Tuesday, April 7, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Rogers Road and 10th Street, on the 4900 block of Rogers Road in Edinburg.

In a press release from the sheriff’s office, it stated the call was in reference to an ongoing investigation regarding illegal gambling.

Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies observed multiple vehicles on the property. Inside the residence, Sheriff’s Investigators located 13 people and 18 eight-liner machines.

The owners of the property were not located but the investigation will remain ongoing, said the release. All individuals at the location were identified as part of the investigation and issued a citation for the Violation of Emergency Management Order.

Sheriff J.E. “Eddie Guerra” said in the release, he reminds the public that these types of establishments are not only illegal but they are also a violation of the current Shelter-At-Home Order and a danger to the safety of our community.

The release also asking anyone with information regarding these types of illegal gatherings to come forward by contacting the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office at 956-383-8114.
