HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas — In a continued effort to stop the spread of COVID-19, Hidalgo County is demanding every business in the county enforce mask requirements.
The order goes into effect Wednesday night, but businesses will not need to comply until Friday.
All persons over the age of three should wear some form of covering over their mouth and nose. Medical grade masks are not required.
The county is also recommending residents to wear masks in areas where it is difficult to practice social distancing.
This recommendation does not extend to people engaged in activity where they are more than six feet away from another person and other factors.
Failure to follow this mandate could result in a $1,000 fine.
