Hidalgo County officials warn about new scam

Harlingen, Texas (KVEO)—The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s office announced there is a new scam residents should be made ware of.

According to a social media post, officials say Hidalgo County residents are receiving calls about a $500 warrant being owed to the department.

“The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s Office will never call anyone regarding warrants.” said officials. “We ask that the public report any incidents to your local law enforcement immediately, if you receive this type of call.”

If you receive this type of call, you are urged to call the Hidalgo County Fire Marshall’s office at 956 318-2656.
