The Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV) named the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s (DA) Office the 2020 Young Hearts Matter Texas Partner for Change.

The release states the award recognizes partnerships that have given gender-based violence prevention and have inspired systemic or communitywide change in Texas.

The award will be presented Feb. 14 in Austin during the Young Hearts Matter at the Capitol forum.

According to the release, Criminal District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez Jr. established a Crime Victims Unit during his first year in office.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to receive this award on behalf of my staff,” Rodriguez said in the release. “This recognition is due to the work of our staff and the dedicated partners we work with to educate youth that love should not hurt.”
