Hidaldo County shelters remain open

MCALLEN, Texas (KVEO) — Shelters in McAllen remain open for those needing help following Hurricane Hanna.

Below are the two locations that remain open:

  • McAllen Respite Center – 111 S. 15th St.
  • The Salvation Army – 1600 N. 23rd St.

At the shelter, attendees must practice social distancing within the facilities and should bring their own gloves, hand sanitizer and masks.

It also recommended that residents bring water, snacks, blankets, medications and important documents.

No pets are allowed and COVID-19 screening will be conducted.
