HCSO identifies victims in shooting investigation that left one dead

HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) is conducting an investigation after three men were found with gunshot wounds, leading one to later die.

According to Sheriff Eddie Guerra, officials responded to the corner of Trenton Road and Val Verde in rural Edinburg to an aggravated assault, Wednesday just before 9:40 p.m.

At the scene, authorities say they found three men with gunshot wounds on their upper bodies.

A victim told officials that they were driving when they were shot at by other men.

All three individuals were transported to a hospital where one later died.

HCSO is investigating the case as a homicide.

The two men transported to the hospital have been identified as Victor Manuel Arroyo and Gerardo Arroyo. The man that died was identified as Roberto Carlos Mendez.

Officials have not released information of any suspects or leads.
