EDCOUCH, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Multiple people have been arrested during a raid for illegal gambling in Edcouch, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office announced.

During the raid Wednesday, law enforcement agencies found several gaming machines at Tejano Treasures located on 100 E. Santa Rosa Ave.

Six were taken into custody in connection to the raid, including the owner of the business identified as 30-year-old Mohammad Sean Butt.

All six individuals were arrested on charges of keeping a gambling place, possession of gambling device/equipment, gambling promotion and engaging in organized criminal activity, a news release from the sheriff’s office stated.

Those arrested are included below:

  • Mohammad Sean Butt, 30, of Corpus Christi
  • Susana Amanda Romo, 38, of Santa Rosa
  • Yecenia Castaneda, 47, of Sebastian
  • Janie Loredo, 52, of Harlingen
  • Juan Pablo Contreras, 42, of Raymondville
  • Cesar Gabriel Cervantes, 32, of Brownsville

The investigation remains ongoing.
