Harlingen Schools Kick of Texas Public Schools Week

Local News

It’s the start of Texas Public School Week and sudden showers did not stop the celebration at Harlingen CISD.

With more education options in the private sector, public schools throughout the state are raising awareness to the benefits of public education.

Schools throughout the valley will be holding open house meetings, showcasing achievements, or sharing the impact public schools have made in the community.

This morning Harlingen schools kick off their celebrations at Stuart Place Elementary.

Dr. Art Cavazos HCISD Superintendent of Schools says, “We continue re-invent ourselves and ensure we provide choice and opportunity to our students.”

Each year, an estimated 80,000 students enroll in Texas public schools.

Public School week is scheduled from February 26 to march the 2nd.
