Harlingen organization giving away free food to those in need

Local News

HARLINGEN, Texas – In an effort to help the community during the pandemic, one group is helping out with food donations.

Way of the Cross Ministry is giving out food throughout the week to residents who need it.

Ministry officials say they are looking to help 200 to 300 people each day they are open.

“Right now we have a good supply of food and we are willing to help whoever comes through and I think we will be able to keep this up for the next 4 to 5 weeks at least,” said Pastor Ben Butler.

The ministry is located at 224 N. F Street in Harlingen.

The organization will hand out free food on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
