Harlingen aggravated robbery arrests

The group of teens allegedly involved in an aggravated robbery in Harlingen are sitting behind bars tonight.

Police say 18-year-old Justin Lara from La Feria, 17-year-olds Damien Alvarez, Augustin Juarez, and Bryce Fronapfel from Harlingen along with Jesus Ravell of Mercedes are the young men accused of breaking into a home and threatening the victim with a knife.

The group initially got away with the victim’s SUV, several electronic and miscellaneous items. 

It happened shortly after two A.M. Monday in the 1300 block of Dixieland road. A few hours after the burglary, a Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted the suspects getaway vehicle and following a short pursuit, arrested two of the suspects. 

All five are facing charges for aggravated robbery and engaging in organized criminal activity.
