EDINBURG, Texas – A Hargill man will serve 25 years in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, both first degree felonies.
62-year-old Juan Treviño Jr. pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced by 389th District Court Judge Letty Lopez on Jan. 9.
Felonies are the most serious class of criminal offense, and sentences are usually served in a federal or state penitentiary rather than county jail.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Treviño on Aug. 21, 2019. The victim was nine-years-old at the time of the assaults, which took place on Feb. 14, 2019, and Aug. 3, 2019.
