HARLINGEN, Texas – H-E-B continues to celebrate their 26th annual Feast of Sharing across the Rio Grande Valley.
Harlingen residents receiving a free Thanksgiving meal complete with turkey, stuffing and a slice of dessert. H-E-B employees and volunteers gathered at the Harlingen Community Center to serve approximately 6,000 meals. That’s close to 3,000 pounds of sliced turkey, nearly 400 gallons of mashed potatoes and 140 gallons of gravy.
Yvonne Loflin, Senior Public Affairs, H-E-B, “We do it from the bottom of our hearts. It truly is a way of thanking our customers Net or loyal to us all year round And then for those that maybe don’t have family here Or maybe won’t spend Thanksgiving with somebody’s table, we want to Make sure they join us at our HEB tables.”
The Feast of Sharing will serve 10 cities along the Texas border. The next big event will be taking place this Sunday, Nov. 10 at the McAllen Convention Center.
