Growing panic over coronavirus leaving stores in short supply of water, sanitizing products

Local News

MCALLEN, Texas – The coronavirus panic among shoppers keeps growing as consumers struggle finding toilet paper and drinking water bottles in stores.

Retailers across the country began limiting the amount of supplies like wipes, hand sanitizers, water cases, and toilet papers per shopper. That is also the case at local stores where many have noticed the empty shelves.

H-E-B releasing the following statement:

“We understand our customers want to prepare by stocking up on essentials. But panic does not promote progress. We’ve implemented limits on certain items because we know limits will help protect the supply chain in Texas.”

H-E-B is assuring the public they are keeping in close contact with suppliers to restock shelves.
