A major grocery store chain is giving back to the Rio Grande Valley.
Many communities and homes were devastated by the recent floods. H-E-B gave hundreds of bags of cleaning supplies to help with their clean-up efforts.
Javier Avalos, H-E-B Border Region Vice President, “We’re trying to help the community. We noticed that a lot of people due to the flooding were in trouble specifically with cleaning supplies and food. Our first run of this was on Monday. We noticed that there were more people that needed help. We decided that we needed to do something bigger and in another area that was more conducive so that everybody could get through and get the cleaning supplies that they really needed, and people do need it right now.”
H-E-B is going out to the communities and assessing what else needs to be done. They have donation stations in their stores to get the public to join their efforts in helping those effected by the floods.
