AUSTIN — Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Governor Greg Abbott extended the state’s disaster declaration.

With this extension, the state can continue to provide all available resources needed to help with the pandemic.

The order does not specify how long the disaster declaration is extended for, but the governor’s office has issued a new order during the second week of each month since originally issuing the order in March.

As of August 6, Texas has reported 467,485 COVID-19 cases and 7,803 deaths from the virus.
