Austin, Texas (KVEO)— Governor Greg Abbott issued a proclamation on Tuesday expanding additional services and activities that can open under Phase II.
The proclamation says water parks, recreational sport programs for adults, driver education programs, and food-court dining areas within shopping malls can begin operations with limited occupancy.
Water parks can open Friday May 29th, but must limit their occupancy to 25%. Video arcades within the water parks must remain closed.
Recreational sports programs for adults can resume starting May 31st. However, games and similar competitions may not begin until June 15th. Driver education programs can resume operations immediately.
Finally, food-court dining areas can resume operations immediately. Malls are encouraged to limit tables to six people, maintaining a six-feet distance between uses and ensuring no condiments or other items are left on tables.
On May 18, Gov. Greg Abbott on May 18 allowed restaurants to increase occupancy to 50 percent and relaxed his earlier executive orders that limited certain other public activities over the last two months to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
