Gang Related Murder Trial Continues

Local News

Testimony continues for a Donna man accused in the murder of a Brownsville teen. Attorneys spent at least seven hours presenting evidence to jurors in the case of 24-year-old Jorge Guajardo.

Among the evidence were images of the bullet that killed 17-year-old Javier Olmedo, as well as images and expert testimony about the victim’s autopsy.

One of the detectives in the September 2015 gang related shooting testified. Donna Police Detective, Enrique Saldaña stated that most of the individuals that were involved, were members of the Tri-City Bombers.

When asked by the defense attorney, “When you say most of the individuals, how many people did you contact?” Detective Saldaña said three.
Guajardo’s co-defendant, Rolando Rodriguez is expected to testify. Rodriguez is a known Tri-City Bomber who admitted to shooting the 17-year-old victim.
