A jury found a 47-year-old Pharr man guilty of murder on Monday.
The jury found Everett James Morris, 47, of Pharr, guilty of murder, a first-degree felony, according to Hidalgo County District Clerk’s Office records.
Morris killed Jorge Olivarez of McAllen during October 2013. Morris — a former missionary — fled to Belize after the murder.
The court scheduled sentencing for May 11.
Morris’ attorney couldn’t immediately be reached for comment Monday afternoon.
