A former Donna High School student will spend the next 50 years behind bars after pleading guilty to capital murder charges.
Pedro Gaspar Rocha was arrested back in January, after authorities said he broke into the Pollos y Costillas Asadas Estilo Veracruz in Donna and stabbed two people, one of them being 69-year-old Arturo Hermes Hernandez.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said Rocha confessed to the deadly stabbing and that the then 16-year-old worked alone.
CBS 4 spoke with the owner of the restaurant back in January who said it wasn’t the first time the teen tried to rob him.
Rocha, who is now 17, will serve his time at a state prison.
