Florida & Minnesota Authorities Have 10 Days to Pick Up “Killer Grandmother” in Cameron County Jail

Lois Ann Riess, 56, is waiting for extradition back to Florida in the Cameron County Jail. 

She was arrested at South Padre Island last week, after being recognized for being wanted for murder of her husband and a woman who liked her, in order to steal her identity.

Reiss waived her right to a Texas court appointed attorney.

Both Florida and Minnesota authorities have been given a 10 day window to pick her up and transport her to their state.  She will be extradited to the state that arrives first.

On April 21, she was arraigned at by the South Padre Island Municipal Court.

On April 20, the South Padre Island Police Department Detectives executed a search warrant to the motel room where Riess was staying. 

During the search, SPI Detectives recovered two pistols, one .22 caliber and one 9-mm.
