Six people have been arrested for evading arrest in Harlingen on Monday.
According to a release, Harlingen police were called out to the 400 block of W. Roosevelt St. in reference to a theft of motor vehicle call.
As officers were responding, police said they spotted the vehicle on the 200 block of E. Roosevelt Street.
We’re told that as officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver refused to stop and fled from officers.
Police said the vehicle later came to a stop on the 2500 block of South Business 77.
That’s when, according to police, the six individuals got out of the vehicle and fled from officers on foot.
During their investigation, police located all six individuals and placed them under arrest.
Johnathan Sandoval 17, of San Benito, Rebekah Abernathy, 17, of Harlingen, Johanna Bravo, 17, of Harlingen, Christopher Martinez, 17, of Harlingen, and Jasper Abernathy, 19, of Harlingen, have all been charged with evading arrest. Sandoval was additionally charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
The adults were taken to the Harlingen City Jail. The juvenile was taken to the Daryl B. Hester Detention Center.
Total bond for Sandoval was set at $27,500 while bond for Bravo was set at $3,500. Bond for Rebekah Abernathy, Jasper Abernathy and Christopher Martinez was set at $5,000 each.
