First Class seating coming to Valley International Airport

HARLINGEN, Texas – American Airlines is replacing their all coach 44 seat regional jet with a much larger aircraft. The 65 seat Canadian Regional Jet 700 includes nine first class seats for all flights between Dallas-Fort Worth and Harlingen. The airport director says travelers will benefit from this new aircraft including more nonstop flights.

Jose A. Mulet, director of air service, “It will increase the seat capacity at American Airlines daily at our airport by 48 percent, also because American in the summer time adds more nonstop routes from their hubs. It’s going to increase opportunity to connect to these new routes.”

With its first class seating and around 250 one stop flights around the world. The airport director says this change was needed for the community. The new aircraft will make its appearance June 4, 2020.
