FBI offering $25,000 reward for information on wanted fugitive

The FBI in McAllen has announced that they are offering a $25,000 reward for information on a wanted fugitive.

Authorities are looking for Juan Alberto Mendez, 46.

Mendez has numerous charges filed against him including conspiracy to participate in racketeering activity, attempted murder in aid of racketeering, murder in aid of racketeering, kidnapping resulting in death, conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute Schedule I controlled substance – heroin, Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine and Schedule I controlled substance – marijuana and forfeiture.

Mendez is 5’7” to 5’8” tall, 189 pounds to 250 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. Mendez has a scar on his abdomen, chin, head, right knee and right forearm. He also has a mole on right cheek. He is also known to wear glasses. 

Authorities said Mendez is an alleged member of the Gulf Cartel is is believed to be residing in the area of Reynosa, Mexico. 

Mendez should be considered armed and dangerous and is also an escape risk.
