Local News

Coverage continues in the trial against a Brownsville woman accused of injecting patients with fake Botox.

On the witness stand was the victim identified in the indictment. Corina Rios testified that she can die at any moment from a reaction to the silicone substance in her body because there is no cure. She also told jurors she regrets having 48-year-old Nohemi Gonzalez inject her with what she believed to be collagen.

Corina Rios, Alleged victim testified, “I have a lot of anger. Sometimes I just feel like I don’t want to go on with this condition anymore, even though I know I’m strong and I have been trying to stay strong for my kids. But sometimes it’s just hard.”

Rios says a crime victim’s organization is helping her pay for additional surgeries to have as much of the silicone substance removed from her body. She also stated that she isn’t looking for monetary gain, but she doesn’t want others to go through the suffering she’s undergoing as a result of her illegal cosmetic procedure.
