The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) designated the Brownsville EnVision Center at the Buena Vida Choice Community Center.
The designation is part of an initiative to offer a more holistic housing approach that will connect HUD-assisted families with tools that can lead to self-sufficiency.
“I am excited to see the outcomes of this new initiative, which will build off the important work that has already been done by the Buena Vida choice neighborhoods and initiative,” said EnVision center designated in Brownsville.
Mayor Trey Mendez and local and federal partners attended the event.
According to a press release, Brownsville is the third EnVision Center recognized in Texas.
