EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Edinburg Police have identified a woman killed this weekend in a car accident.
The wreck happened Sunday around 11:15 p.m. on the 4900 block of South 25th Avenue and the northbound Frontage Road.
Police say the vehicle was being driven by 20-year-old Aylin Julissa Sanchez. Her mother Idaleen Ramos Sanchez, 45, was the passenger and died in the crash.
Officers say neither woman was wearing a seatbelt and both of them were ejected from the vehicle.
The daughter remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation. Police have not said if the daughter will be charged in her mother’s death.
