According to Edinburg Assistant Police Chief Treviño, a 12-year-old girl who was reported missing on July 19th was found more than 500 miles away from her Edinburg home in Mexico.
Sabrina Luna first reported missing in the early hours of July 18th. Police first believed that Luna ran away. Further investigation showed that she was with 19-year-old José Martin Morales, an unauthorized immigrant, whom police say she met on Facebook. Officers suspected Morales fled with Luna to Mexico.
The FBI and Edinburg police collaborated and located Luna in Querétaro, Mexico late Thursday evening. She was transported back to the U.S. and is currently in the custody of Edinburg police for questioning. Police say they will use information from her interview to see what charges will be placed on Morales.
