Edinburg nursing home hosts parade for residents

Local News

EDINBURG, Texas — To allow residents to see their loved ones, Retama Nursing Home in Edinburg held a parade on Friday.

The parade is a part of the ongoing National Skilled Nursing Care Week, better known as Nursing Home Week.

Retama Nursing Home held celebrations all week, but this celebration included a parade that allowed the residents to socialize and see their loved ones.

“[We did this] to give the opportunity to our residents to socialize with each other in a party atmosphere,” said Roy Cepeda with the Retama Nursing Home. “They miss their loved ones and families. They miss them tremendously.”

This year marks Retama Nursing Home’s 50th year of serving residents.
