Edinburg Hosts Proper Christmas Tree Disposal

Local News

Residents in the city of Edinburg can get rid of their live trees as early as next week.

The solid waste management department will be taking in trees beginning next Monday.

All ornaments, lights and tree stands must be removed before dropping them off.

From January 9th till the 27th, residents can leave their trees along the curb for pickup.

Irma Garza, City of Edinburg Public Information Officer, “It doesn’t cost you a penny. It’s absolutely free. It’s a service we provide to our residents. We also will take in that Christmas wrapping paper that we don’t know what to do with. Bags, boxes.”

For more information on Christmas recycling you can contact your local city’s solid waste or recycling office.
