A delegation from Edinburg traveled to the State Capitol in Austin recently to meet with legislators from across the state to talk about the All America City’s legislative priorities.
Mayor Richard Molina, Council Member Jorge Salinas, Mayor Pro Tem David Torres and representatives from DHR, STHS, UTRGV, CBP and staff from several city departments sat down with legislators from across the state to talk about projects important to Edinburg.
“We had an incredibly productive trip to Austin. We met with legislators from all over Texas to discuss health care, infrastructure, higher education, environmental issues and economic development.” Said Mayor Richard Molina. “Every day was focused on advocating for our City. When these lawmakers vote on legislation that directly affects us, they will know firsthand what our needs in Edinburg are.”
Mayor Molina also presented Governor Greg Abbott with his administration’s first “Key to the City”.
Resolutions were also read in both the House and Senate making March 6 City of Edinburg Day at the Capitol.
