EDINBURG, Texas – The staff from the Edinburg CISD Child Nutrition Department is expected to reach a milestone.

The district’s press release said over 1 million healthy meals will have been served to children as part of the District’s Curbside Meal Pickup Program.

Since March 23, school nutrition professionals have worked hard to provide thousands of meals to feed hungry students in the district’s school community amid the COVID-19 pandemic, said the release.

The event will take place on Thursday, May 14 at 10 a.m. at De Escandon Elementary School, 1100 E. Trenton Road.

The Curbside Meal Pickup Program runs Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 31 campuses.
