Father and son accused of sexually assaulting 14-year-old twin girls

EDCOUCH, Texas (KGBT) – Investigators have arrested a father and son accused of sexually assaulting twin 14-year-old girls.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office started investigating the case during September, according to criminal complaints against the men.

Child Protective Services contacted the Sheriff’s Office with information about “two 14-year-old twin sisters reporting they were sexually abused,” according to the criminal complaints.

KGBT is withholding details about how the men knew the twin girls to preserve their anonymity.

According to the criminal complaints:

  • During a forensic interview, one of the two girls said Garcia Jr. touched her inappropriately, among other sexual acts.

Juan Carlos Garcia Jr., 25, of Edcouch is charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.

  • During a forensic interview, one of the two girls said Garcia Sr.  molested her on a weekly basis.

Juan Carlos Garcia, 50, of Edcouch is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a young child, a first-degree felony.

Investigators booked Garcia Jr. and Garcia Sr.  at the Hidalgo County jail on Thursday. They were released Saturday and couldn’t be reached for comment.
