Driver arrested after woman falls out of moving vehicle along Expressway 83

A driver has been arrested after a woman fell out of a moving vehicle on Sunday evening.

The Harlingen Police Department said the incident took place on Westbound Expressway 83, near the Bass Boulevard exit, just before 6 p.m.

According to a release, when officers arrived, they found a 29-year-old woman with injuries.

Police said initial reports indicated the woman somehow fell out of a moving vehicle.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, a 66-year-old man, has been arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The driver has been taken to the city jail for processing.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
